SEN Teaching Assistant Role

The Headteacher of a smaller than average Primary School in Chorley is looking to source an Inspirational Teaching Assistant to take on a split role working alongside two children on a 1:1 basis.

During the morning sessions, the successful candidate will work alongside a child in the Reception class with SEMH; this child is working below age related expectations and needs additional support with speech and language. During the afternoons, you will work within the Juniors alongside a child in Lower KS2. This child requires behaviour support, therefore a candidate who has had previous experience of working alongside pupils displaying challenging behaviours would be advantageous.

This role offers variety and is a great opportunity to gain experience across EYFS and KS2. The school are very supportive and the Headteacher is committed to inclusion and providing the best quality education for each and every child in school. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who has previously worked alongside children with complex needs and have experience supporting 'hard to reach pupils'.

In order to be considered you must have…

• Experience working alongside Primary aged children within the past 12 months.
• Minimum Level 2+ childcare relate qualification.
• An open minded and patient attitude with the ability to build positive relationships with children.
• Have a passion for delivering high quality education for each child.

This is a small school serving a pleasant catchment area, behaviour is exemplary in school and staff are welcoming and supportive. The Headteacher is looking for practitioners who will share their knowledge in order to develop best practice; the Headteacher has an open door policy and is committed to school improvement.

This role is to begin immediately however, the school are able to cover these roles internally for the next two weeks in order to secure the right candidate for the post.
