SEN teaching assistant - Rochdale - September 2018

Full time vacancy in September, initially on a 12 month temporary contract, as a SEN teaching assistant at a modern secondary school in Rochdale.

Our client school is situated in a semi-rural area serving local areas such as Dearnley, Littleborough and Smithy Bridge. The school is situated by the M62, with excellent access to both Leeds and Manchester, and boasts several public transport routes nearby. The school aims to provide the best in pastoral and educational support for their students and Ofsted commented on the high quality of teaching which is raising attainment and the aspirations of the students.

Teaching Personnel are working with our client secondary in Rochdale, to aid the recruitment of their support staff in September, and are looking to help in the appointment of a skilled SEN teaching assistant. This post has arisen due to changes within the support staff team and with an incoming cohort of students requiring further support.

This is a full time position, and the successful applicant will join the school as a SEN teaching assistant. Whilst undertaking this post, you will provide support to students with SEN and learning difficulties with the aim of helping them engage with the curriculum as well develop socially and academically during their time at secondary school. There will be a number of professional development opportunities throughout the post, with the successful SEN teaching assistant being given the opportunity to progress their career.

Requirements of this position;

* The ability to support basic literacy and numeracy (GCSE in Maths and English)

* Previous experience or sound knowledge of working with young people with SEN

* A willingness to commit to a full 12 month post starting September 2018
