SEN Teaching Assistant required in Harrogate

Job description

We are currently working closely alongside a school in Harrogate who are seeking a passionate Teaching Assistant in the area to work with and support pupils, the school ranges from primary age right through to secondary and this role has the aspiration of an immediate start. The position is within a SEN setting and would be a challenging but highly rewarding role. This is a great opportunity to join a successful and welcoming school on a day to day basis with a view to enjoying a long-term opportunity.


The role will primarily focus on working with children who have Autism as well as other learning difficulties including PMLD, SLD and MLD. Therefore we are looking for someone with previous experience; the school will also provide training and you will work closely with the parents and the care team in order to help the children achieve to the best of their ability.

A Team-Teach, Moving and Handling qualification or equivalent (e.g. MAPA) are an essential for this role and you are strongly advised to apply for this role should you hold these. Teaching Personnel also offer a range of CPD courses including Team-Teach, Introduction to Autism and Moving and Handling.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
