Job description

Our partnering school is looking to appoint a Special Needs Teaching Assistant on a part time basis (3 days a week) from January 2019.

The school is situated in the West Bowling area of Bradford and is part of a multi-academy trust of 5 special schools in the area, delivering an innovative curriculum for young people aged 7-18. The school is easily accessible by both car and public transport from Leeds and Wakefield.

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will be working with individual or small groups of young people to promote their learning both in and out of the classroom. You will be committed to meeting the holistic needs of SEN pupils, including those with Autism, Aspergers Syndrome, Down Syndrome and/or Speech, Language and Communication Needs. Due to the needs of pupils, you may also be required to provide personal care.

The ideal applicant will be an experienced Teaching Assistant, with previous experience working within a special school. We will however welcome applications from individuals who have worked within residential health care settings and who have a sound understanding of working with young people with additional learning needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
