SEN Teaching Assistant required for specialist school

Our partner SEN School require a teaching assistant to support pupils in KS1 to start after Christmas. The pupils within this class are predominantly boys in Year 2 and require strong behaviour management. This school caters for pupils with Autism Spectrum Conditions; therefore Teaching Assistant's that have experience working with individuals with ASC are desirable. This position is due to start in January and has the strong potential to become permanent. A DBS on the update service is desirable due to the relatively soon start.

This school is an outstanding setting with many outstanding features. They are ambitious for all the children and young people to achieve positive outcomes. They cater for children and young people aged 5 - 11 years of age with learning difficulties, communication difficulties and those of the Autistic Spectrum. Their aim is to engage all in learning through outstanding and creative teaching, supporting all on their faith journey wherever that may be.

The ideal Teaching Assistant will;

• Have experience working with young people with ASC
• Have previous experience working with young people in an educational setting
• Have previous experience working with individuals with challenging behaviour
• Have a passion for developing the social and emotional development of young people with Autism.
• Have a resilient character
• Be available 5 days a week and able to start immediately
• Have a DBS on the update service
