SEN Teaching Assistant Required for Primary School in Kingswood

A fantastic primary school within the Kingswood, South Gloucestershire need an SEN Specialist Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 4. You will be working on a one to one basis with a KS2 child who has Autism and SEMH needs. If you have experience working 1:1 in a Primary or SEN School setting with any form of SEN, in particular ASC, EBD, MLD, SpLD, PMLD then we would like to hear from you.

The ideal candidate for this position will have experience working with young people with SEN.

You will be part of a fantastic group of staff, and in the class there will also be a general TA and full time Class Teacher.

The child attends weekly intervention sessions and also spends dedicated time in the schools alternative provision for SEN pupils, you will be expected to attend all of these sessions- building a good relationship with the child is essential.

You will also be expected to liaise with the school SENCO regarding the child's needs in relation to their EHCP.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
