SEN Teaching Assistant work available in South East London

I am working with a secondary school for children with severe learning difficulties, who have an opportunity for a Teaching Assistant looking for part time day to day work to join their team. The classes are key stage 3/4 and have a maximum of 10 students, a teacher and 3 other Teaching Assistants.

I am looking for a Teaching Assistant who:

  • Is able to support children with autism, including some with challenging behaviour
  • Can provide personal care where necessary including assisting with toileting and changing
  • Has experience of supporting children with SEN either in primary or secondary
  • Is willing to assist pupils in the hydrotherapy swimming pool
  • Can provide excellent references from previous employment
  • Has a DBS on the update service, or is willing to complete a new application asap
  • Is able to travel to this school in Peckham, for a 9am start and 4pm finish each day
  • Holds a relevant qualification related to working with children (degree or level 3 is desirable)
  • Has completed any relevant training sessions (Autism Awareness, Moving and Handling, PECS, Makaton, BSL, Multi-Sensory Impairment are all desirable)
