A special school in Newbury are currently looking to expand their team of teaching assistants. The school caters for pupils with additional needs including Severe Learning Difficulties, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Speech, Language and Communication Needs, and Autism. Pupils are aged between 2 and 19, with a Nursery, Primary and Secondary department.

The school are looking for someone who will have a flexible approach and be able to adapt in different circumstances including the possibility of moving across teams or school sites.

Be able to support pupils in developing practical and social skills

Each pupil at the school has an appropriately paced and differentiated curriculum based on their own individual needs and as well as working with pupils in the classroom, you may be required to participate in off-site activities such as swimming and trips out.

Experience of working with children is essential for this role, and a good level of fitness is required as you will be on the go throughout the school day and may be required to take part in manual handling procedures.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
