Job description

An "Outstanding" primary school in Bolton (BL1) are currently working with Teaching Personnel to find an SEN teaching assistant. As a result, they are working closely with us to support a year 2 pupil who has additional SEN needs.

The pupil has been diagnosed with ADHD (Attention Deficit) and needs the support of a teaching assistant on a full time basis ASAP. The child displays a number of challenging behaviours which can be related to their inability to communicate effectively and a short attention span. As an SEN teaching assistant, supporting the learning of a year 2 child is of paramount importance.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant in this Bolton school you would be expected to build effective communication and relationships with the Year 2 child and with other children within the Year 2 class. Using strategies and techniques that work for the child, supporting ADHD can be both challenging and rewarding, but this particular school provides a great environment to allow all children to learn.
