Job description

Teaching Personnel are seeking nurturing SEN teaching assistants in Newham to work in a SEN unit for KS3-KS4 pupils with complex special educational needs. This secondary unit caters for pupils with physical impairments, multiple learning disabilities and many pupils being wheel chair users. The support required here will be a multi sensory interactive approach, 1:1 and group support will be required due to learners needs. As a TA here you will be required to write short evaluations after 1:1 sessions so strong written skills are essential. Support with nappy changing is part of the role here so please only apply if comfortable with all aspects of role.

KS4 SEN TA:

  • Previous experience with SEN desired but not essential, relevant experience from care and health sector will be considered
  • Manual handling training
  • Willing to support with nappy changing
  • Degree or equivalent qualification
  • Committed to Monday - Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm - term time hours
