Job description

Teaching Personnel are working with a client school in the Dorchester area, seeking a specialist Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with SEN.

The pupil is in Key Stage 2 and has a diagnosis of ASD. The pupil has significant and complex needs within the area of social interaction, communication and understanding.

This is a full time role, starting immediately and fixed term for the Summer Term.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 support for the child
  • Supporting the child inside and outside the classroom
  • Helping the child to socially interact with other children
  • Use your initiative to differentiate activities to support the child's needs
  • Work closely with the class teacher to give he child the best support
  • Follow an EHC plan and reward system for the child

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
