Are you an experienced teaching assistant or learning mentor looking for the next step in your career?

On behalf of a large secondary school in Plymouth, Teaching Personnel is looking for a specialist to support a student with their academic studies and manage their challenging behaviour on 1:1 basis. This role will start on 28th October and will continue on a full time, term time only basis.

Your role as a learning mentor will involve...

  • Working along side children of various abilities and who have various types of needs
  • Providing excellent 1:1 support with the help of other learning mentors and teachers
  • Monitoring pupil progress and reporting this at the end of the day
  • Maintaining the same standard of care and education to pupils as expected
  • Liaising with the students parents and teachers

The right candidate will need...

  • A passion for education and interest in supporting pupils
  • Professional experience with children or SEN
  • A drivers licence and access to a vehicle is desirable
  • A DBS on the update service

In order to work for Teaching Personnel and clear our vetting process, you must have a Child Workforce DBS subscribed to the Update Service. Full assistance will be provided should you need to apply for a new check, at a standard cost of GBP40, plus an annual subscription fee of GBP13 for the Update Service.
