Teaching Personnel Plymouth are looking for multiple Teaching Assistants to work in a secondary SEN school on a 1:1 basis.

About the role:

  • SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Supporting a secondary aged pupil with challenging behaviour and SEMH difficulties
  • Full Time (Monday to Friday 8:30 - 15:30) term time only
  • There is immediate work available as well as roles to start in April 2022

About the School:

This SEN School in Plymouth caters for secondary aged children with a range of learning difficulties, including Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties. All the pupils have a Statement of Special Educational Needs (SEN) or an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP).

The ideal candidate / desired skills and experience:

  • Available to start immediately
  • MUST have a driving licence and access to a car daily
  • MUST have a NVQ Level 3 in a child related subject or higher
  • Commit to a full time long term role (5 days a week)
  • PECS and Makaton experience
  • MAPA or Team Teach
  • SEMH/SEN experience
  • Engaging personality
  • The ability to build strong relationships
  • Teaching assistant/ Learning Support Assistant
  • Youth work / Support Work / Care Work/ Sports background

In order to work for Teaching Personnel and clear our vetting process, you must have a Child Workforce DBS subscribed to the Update Service. Full assistance will be provided should you need to apply for a new check, at a standard cost of £40, plus an annual subscription fee of £13 for the Update Service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
