SEN Teaching Assistant

The role is to support children within school who have EHCPs, or who have EHCPs pending, and who need extra provision in school to support them with their learning.

This will involve working closely with the child’s class teacher, our Deputy Headteacher and our SENDCo to ensure that the provision for pupil is inline with the other children’s and that their individual needs are catered for.

Key areas of work to include specifically;
• To meet and greet the child/ren to ensure that the transition from home to school is positive
• To make the child/ren feel safe, happy and cared for at school
• To follow the child/ren’s Three Point Behaviour Plan so that they are treated consistently by all members of staff
• To adapt the teacher’s plan to cater for the needs of the pupil/s
• To communicate with the parent/carer when the child/ren is/are collected

Desirable skills and experience;
• Relevant qualifications and training e.g. a degree qualification, Childcare qualifications, ELSA and/or specific learning support programmes within a school or childcare setting
• Previous experience of working with children within a classroom or similar environment
• Experience of working with a child in a 1:1 situation, where the child may find mainstream school challenging.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
