The role

Do you have experience with working one to one with young adults who have physical or learning disabilities? The school are seeking to appoint a SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with a range of needs.

The ideal candidate will have experience working within a school or other educational setting who have supported children with SEN and challenging behaviour. Team teach or other behavioural support trained TA’s desired but not essential.

The school is an SEMH secondary school based in Bidston, wirral. They have an internal exclusion unit in school and support pupils with a wide range of social, emotional and mental health difficulties. They are looking to recruit a 1:1 teaching assistant to support a female pupil who is working below ARE and exhibits challenging behaviour and a behaviour mentor to work with small groups of pupils who require extra support outside of the classroom.

Pay

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications.

Requirements

As a SEND Teaching Assistant (TA) you must be willing to:

• Support the values and aims of the school

• Encourage children’s learning and ensure progression

• Be able to build rapport with the children and adults alike

• Work as part of team, but show initiative when required

• Strong behaviour management skills

• The right to work in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
