A mainstream secondary school based in Wirral is looking for an SEN Learning Support Assistant.

The Role: You will be employed to support pupils in the SEN department. You will help them through their daily routine and keep them on task achieve their daily goals.  The school day will start at 8:30am and end at 3:30pm, Monday – Friday.

The School: Based in Wirral, this school caters for Students aged 11-16 with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) Global Delay, complex and medical needs, ADHD, Non-Verbal, Asperger’s Syndrome and SEMH.

Experience: 

  • Must have experience working within a SEN setting, this may include care work, teaching assisting, support work, play work, nursery nurse or nursing.
  • Personal experience with special needs is also welcome.
  • Additional training can be provided where needed for the right candidate.

The Ideal Candidate will:

  • Have SEN experience, personal or professional (essential)
  • Have transferable skills and experiences (care, nursery, play work)
  • Be Manual Handling or Team Teach Trained (desirable but not essential)
  • Have a contagious personality
  • Be able to think on their feet
  • Work well under pressure
  • Be confident in what they do
  • Have experience working with challenging behaviour

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
