Sen Teaching Assistant

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Northampton. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) in their learning and development. This role requires a good understanding and experience working in SEN environments, as well as the ability to engage and build rapport with students.

Our client is happy to consider candidates with a passion for education or who come from the care sector. Candidates with qualifications in Health and Social Care, Moving and Handling and Counselling Skills are also highly desired. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work as part of a highly skilled and passionate team. This is a long-term, full time opportunity and will require a SEN teaching assistant who is fully committed to their role. Ideally the SEN teaching assistant will have had previous experience in a similar position working with special needs in a school. This role requires someone with patience - the school are happy to provide support and guidance but will need a SEN teaching assistant who is passionate about SEN. You will also be working with key stages 3 and 4.

Requirements

• Good understanding and experience working in SEN environments, supporting students with a range of special educational needs.

• Minimum of 6 months of experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.

• A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with and build rapport with students.

• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of individual students.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
