SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Liverpool

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

Do you have a genuine desire to support their educational journey and contribute to their overall well-being? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as an SEN Teaching Assistant in Liverpool schools, starting after Easter half term.

Our schools are dedicated to providing an inclusive and nurturing learning environment for all students. 

Position Overview: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting teachers and supporting students with SEN to achieve their full potential. You will work closely with the teaching staff to implement tailored strategies, provide one-on-one support, and create a positive and inclusive learning environment. Your role will involve working with students on a range of SEN, including but not limited to autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and speech and language difficulties.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN in both academic and social settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement and adapt lesson plans to meet the specific needs of students.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs).
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to the teaching team.
  • Work closely with other professionals, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and counselors, to address diverse needs.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEN is highly desirable.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or special education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational development of students with SEN.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
