SEN Teaching Assistant

A secondary school in the South of Manchester is looking to recruit a SEN teaching assistant. The successful SEN teaching assistant will be primarily assisting within the classroom, working with students that require support with the work being taught or with those students who are of lower ability than their peers. Any TAs who are experienced in supporting young people with special educational needs such as Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties or ADHD are encouraged to apply as below.

The SEN teaching assistant will benefit from support of the school, opportunities to complete professional development courses through Teaching Personnel and a large highly supportive SEN department at this secondary school. Reporting to the SENCO, the successful SEN TA will be working within a team of support staff with their own timetable to work through and a list of students who have been identified as requiring specific support.

As a successful and confident SEN TA, you should have relevant experience in supporting either in a secondary school setting or with students in an educational environment.

The specific role of a SEN teaching assistant will be to support specific students who have been identified from their educational health care plans with the special educational needs department putting provisions in place to provide the support required to enhance the student's learning experience. Any experience supporting students on a 1:1 basis who might have moderate learning difficulties, autism, ADHD, dyslexia or social emotional behaviour support will be highly desirable.
