Are you looking to join a new role in September 2023?

Teaching personnel are looking for a SEN Teaching assistant to help support the teaching staff to develop and provide quality learning for pupils with special education needs. This will range from a wide variety of physical, emotional and behavioural needs, you will help to encourage pupils to be engaged and interested to make them feel safe and happy in a learning environment.

The school aim to provide the best possible education outcomes for our students. All of their students have a personalised learning programme top help them achieve their best. This is used to adapt the curriculum to meet the individual needs of each student.

Main roles and responsibilities -

  • Help assist the lead teacher enable each pupil to access their curriculum.
  • Engage with playground activities.
  • Plan and organise teaching material.
  • Support and encourage the development of pupil’s education.
  • Look after pupils physical, emotional and social welfare.
  • Keep records and attend review meetings.
  • Communicate with parents and guardians.
  • 1:1 and 2:1 support.

Key skills and requirements -

  • Level 2/3 certificate in Supporting Teachers and Learning in Schools or Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education Early Years Educator is essential.
  • Have experience working with SEN pupils.
  • Friendly and compassionate.
  • Patient.
  • Sensitivity and understanding.
  • Knowledge of teaching and ability to plan activities.
  • Excellent verbal communication.
  • Confident working in small groups and on a 1:1 basis.

Job type – permanent, contract basis.

Salary - £20,000 – £24,000 (£80 -£140 per day)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
