Teaching Personnel are currently representing a 'Good' School in South Sheffield, who are looking for a Teaching Assistant with SEN experience. The school is well located, with good transport links (regular trams and buses run to the school) so having access to a car is not essential. The school collaborates with other schools within the Federation, sharing best practice and improving skills of staff employed.
We are looking for someone to take on a full time role within the Learning Centre of the school. The Learning Centre caters for a range of needs including; ASC, MLD, Global Delay and ADHD. The Centre has small classes using it through out the day, with its own specialist classroom and sensory room to enhance learning experiences. We are looking for someone who is L5 or degree educated to take on a HLTA role within this unit. You will support the class teacher in the Learning Centre and lead your own sessions (all planned for by the class Teacher). We are looking for someone with prior experience supporting children with SEN, experience in a IR unit, Special School or PRU would be beneficial.

Our ideal SEN Teaching Assistant would be:
- L5 or degree educated
- Experience supporting SEN
- Confident leading a class/small group in a HLTA capacity
- Good English and Maths skills (A-C at GCSE level)
- Patient and sensitive
- Able to motivate children who are disengaged from their learning
