Teaching Personnel have been approached by multiple Primary schools in the Wakefield area who require SEN / Autism Support Workers. The schools require staff on short-term and long-term contracts which could be either on a full-time or a part-time basis. The schools have pupils, aged 4-11, with SEND including, ASD, HI, SLCN and VI, MLD and Complex Needs. 

As an SEN / Autism Support Worker, you will be required to:

  • Support pupils throughout the school day
  • Support pupils across the specialist provision
  • Incorporate the use of senses into learning
  • Help pupils to support their speech, language and communication
  • Consider the choices, needs and wishes of each pupils and encourage them to make the right choices for learning

The schools require caring individuals which can make a positive impact on the pupils at the school. The perfect applicant will have an empathetic nature , and be an excellent communicator. They will help support the needs of each individual pupil dependant on their needs and help them to achieve their academic goals.

The school will consider applications from individuals who have previous experience supporting people with SEND, have previous care experience or those willing to do training upon the subject.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
