Job description

Experience of working with Autism (ASC), ideally with young children.

Ability to cope with Autistic children, traits of Autism and mechanisms to engage and include children.

Challenging behaviours but great support with the SENCO and Inclusion Team.

Teaching Personnel are working closely with the SENCO and Inclusion Leader at a Primary school in Salford, M7.This primary school are looking to recruit a one to one Autism support to work with a a child with Autism in year 2. This role requires someone who has experience of working with children with Autism, whether it’s on the verbal or non verbal spectrum. The Salford school is a great place to work, with a friendly environment and a hard-working ethic. This is a great opportunity and one which could lead to a school’s permanent contract in the future.

The Role:

• Autism experience

• Non verbal or verbal communicators

• Using visual cards such as “Now and Next”

• Visual Timetables to communicate

• Team Teach Trained – not a necessity but training offered through Teaching Personnel

• 1:1 and small group support with Autistic children
