SEN Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant, who is looking for a new challenge in January. Working in our client’s secondary school with a range of students with different Special educational needs, such as:
• ADHD (Attention deficit hyperactive disorder)
• ADD (Attention deficit disorder)
• ASC (Autism spectrum condition)
• EAL (English as an additional language)
The SEN Teaching Assistant role will involve supporting the students in and out of the classroom, building a strong relationship with them and helping them reach their academic goals. You will be based within the schools inclusion unit, which has recently has a refurbishment, where they have created an excellent learning environment for their students.
• Full time SEN Teaching Assistant
• Starting in January 2020
• Working in a Secondary school, supporting SEN students in KS3 - KS4
• Competitive pay, Paid on a weekly basis
• Initially on a temporary basis, with the opportunity of a permanent contract
Due to an increase in students with education health care plans (EHCP) joining the secondary school in January, the inclusion unit is in demand of an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join the strong, forward thinking tea of staff within the inclusion unit.
The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will have had previous experience working with SEN secondary school students and have confidence dealing with difficult situations. With students at the SEN unit struggling with trust issues, as an SEN Teaching Assistant you will be able to build a strong relationship with the students and can commit to a full time role.
Our clients school is located in heart of Manchester, with excellent transport links close by, making it easy to access in the morning rush hour.
