SEN Teaching Assistant

Do you have experience working with secondary school SEN students?

Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity this September?

With the new academic year approaching Teaching Personnel are looking to appoint a SEN Teaching Assistant, to work within out client's secondary school, supporting their SEN department. As a SEN Teaching Assistant you will be supporting a range of students that have different disabilities, such as;

  • ADHD (Attention deficit hyperactive disorder)
  • ADD (Attention deficit disorder)
  • ASC (Autism spectrum condition)
  • EAL (English as an additional language)

As a SEN Teaching Assistant you will need to ensure you are fully committed to the role, supporting the vulnerable students. Having previous experience working within a Special educational needs learning environment, is essential for this role, to have a confident and competent approach to supporting the students.

  • SEN Teaching Assistant, supporting a range of SEN students
  • Located in central Manchester, working in a secondary school
  • Starting in September on a temporary basis
  • Competitive pay, paid on a weekly basis

The head of the SEN unit within our client's secondary school is looking to appoint an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant who is looking for a new challenge this September. For the new academic year, the SEN unit require extra support, due to the increase of SEN students joining the school from primary school. The SEN unit has recently had a refurbishment, with modern facilities and equipment, giving the students the best learning environment to achieve their goals.

The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will;

  • Have previous experience supporting SEN students
  • Have a caring and supportive nature
  • Be able to commit to a full time role, with the opportunity of becoming a teacher in the future
  • Have a good knowledge on the main core subjects to add academic support when assisting the students

The secondary school is located in the heart of Manchester, supporting the local community. Being close to the centre of Manchester, there is excellent public transport links close by, making it easy to access the secondary school, from in and out of Manchester. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will given plenty of support from the SEN department and given the opportunity to undertake a range of CPD training courses.
