SEN Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are working with a Mainstream Primary school in South Liverpool, Childwall who are actively looking for a full time 1-1 SEN Teaching Assistant; to work with a student in Reception from September.

The pupil has ASD (autism) and a hearing impairment with quite complex sensory and personal needs, so you will ideally have experience working with children with autism with similar needs and a qualification such as MAKATON or Sign Language. 

The role is set to start from September 2020 until December 2020 with the potential of the role extending to July 2021.

The role:

  • Start date, September 2020
  • Primary School – Reception
  • Full time, long term
  • Monday – Friday
  • Hours approximately, 8:30am – 3:30pm
  • South Liverpool Area
  • GBP10 - GBP11 per hour

Key responsibilities and requirements for this teaching assistant role will include:

  • Supporting a particular student with autism on a 1:1 basis, in order to support their learning.
  • Taking direction from class teachers, SLT and senior support staff and completing task to a high level.
  • Have patience and a caring and understanding nature.
  • Be able to use own initiative and act accordingly without having to be directed;

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
