I am looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant for a primary school in Newton Abbot.
This is an exciting and unique opportunity to work alongside the SENDCo and teachers, to promote an alternative child-centred approach to meeting the needs of the pupils who have been identified as having complex needs. You will need to have a positive mindset, combined with resilience and determination to improve outcomes. You will need to be highly organised, pro-active, versatile and resilient. Knowledge and experience of working with pupils with SEN is desirable.
This post is subject to the child/s continued attendance at the school and/or the result of any review of their special needs.
Responsibilities will include providing a bespoke curriculum. This will require preparing provision alongside the teacher and the SENDCo.
You will be flexible, patient, hard-working and committed to maximising learning opportunities for children. Experience of working with medical or emotional needs would be desirable.
The school are looking for someone who can inspire children and colleagues and who is willing to ‘go the extra mile’.
They can offer support from a successful team with regular professional development.
You will need to be an energetic, supportive and a positive team player, who has a sense of humour and excellent communication skills with some knowledge of SEN. ICT skills are essential and along with the flexibility to attend twilight training sessions on occasion. A willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school will be important. You must be willing to contribute to the continued improvement of our school in its journey from Good to Outstanding.
