Job description

A Special Needs school in Portsmouth requires a Teaching Assistant to work with their SEN pupils between the ages of 4 and 11 years old. The pupils have a complex range of needs associated with learning difficulties to include:

- Children with Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASCs)

- Children with physical needs.

- Children with speech and language difficulties.

Previous experience working with children in a Special Needs environment is desirable but not essential. Candidates must be energetic, enthusiastic and be passionate about helping children. A nurturing disposition and a willingness to be flexible in a variety of situations is a must, as is the ability to use your initiative.

A TA or Early Years qualification is an added bonus. Teaching Personnel also offer development courses through our CPD Academy; courses such as Team Teach, Autism Awareness and Safeguarding can be attained alongside a number of other courses specified to working in various education settings.

This is a role working during term time from 08:30 -15:30. Please send CV's

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
