SEN Teaching Assistant - The School
Primary Schools in Waltham Forest recognise the value of all their staff members and treats all staff members with the upmost respect giving them training and support. They are now looking for a bubbly and energetic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team starting ASAP.
The schools are situated in the heart of Walthamstow which is one the most progressive areas to work in London, providing an inclusive, caring and friendly community. It has easily accessible transport links to the rest of the city, giving you unlimited commuter freedom in and out of London
Mainstream Primary Schools in Leyton and Waltham Forest are currently looking for SEN teaching assistants who specialise in ASC, Challenging Behaviour, Makaton & PECs. These roles vary from 3-5 days a week and involve providing support to pupils with social, emotional and mental health as well as SEN.
SEN Teaching Assistant - The Role
The SEN team are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant who has experience working with either ASC, Dyslexia, Challenging Behaviour, PLD, MLD, PECs and Makaton.
The right candidates will:
- Have experience providing specialist support to children with SEN
- Have experience working 1:1 and in small groups with children who have moderate to severe behavioural difficulties
- Have experience liaising with Parents and SENCO on the child’s progress
- Experience working with children within primary schools is desirable but not compulsory
Although a background in a school setting is desirable it is not essential, the schools will also consider candidates who come from other backgrounds:
-Youth work -Sports coaching -NEET -Drama & Art -Criminology or Psychology Degree
-Core subjects: English, Maths & Science

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
