SEN Teaching Assistant
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
It has recently become apparent that many schools require additional online and in-person support for SEN students who have not been classified as sufficiently 'vulnerable' to continue going into school. There are concerns not only that these children may end up falling behind academically during the school closures, but further that these children will struggle to manage the transition when they are asked to return to schools in March.
In alignment with recommendations from the Department for Education, we are currently recruiting for FLEXIBLE SEN SPECIALIST STAFF, who are ready to help support SEN students in successfully accessing remote learning, and well as assisting students in managing concerns about returning to school in the coming weeks.
Positions are likely to include both full-time and part-time roles.
Pay rate: GBP60-80/day
Roles and responsibilities:
- Providing 1:1 support for students to help manage their transition back to mainstream school in March
- Provide academic support where necessary and effectively scaffold learning to ensure pupils reach their highest potential
- Build positive and trusting relationships with students; exploring unique learning needs and preferences
- Managing behaviour in alignment with the school’s behavioural policies
Candidate requirements:
- Minimum Level 3 TA Qualification or equivalent (Essential)
- Experience supporting SEN and vulnerable individuals (Essential)
- Team Teach Qualified (Desirable)
