Role: SEN Teaching Assistant

School: KS2

Location: South Gloucestershire

Salary: £54-65 per day

Teaching Personnel is seeking an experienced teaching assistant to support a student with special educational needs on a 1:1 basis in the South Gloucestershire area. This school is based in a really lovely location and is commented on as having a supportive and welcoming staff base. From the new term this school is requiring an experienced teaching assistant or even someone who has experience either working with children, or experience supporting young people with SEN who are seeking a new and exciting role.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant you will be supporting KS2 students on a 1:1 basis both in the classroom and outside providing additional support to vulnerable students who struggle the most within schools.

The ideal candidate:

  • Needs to be resilient and experienced with challenging outbursts and not necessarily challenging behaviour
  • Be able to build good relationships with students and staff that you will be working alongside
  • Experienced in supporting primary aged pupils or pupils with SEN inside and outside of the school setting
  • Be reliable and committed to a long term role starting in the new term

You must be able to provide your two most recent professional references and be able to apply for a child workforce DBS if you don't already have one.
