SEN Teaching Assistant

Our client secondary school is looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant who is experienced in supporting high functioning Autistic students and general SEN. The school has a special needs resource centre within the school known as The Hub where students with Autism are supported in small groups and on a more 1:1 basis as required. The school is looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant who can work within ‘The Hub’ supporting these students with access to learning.

The successful SEN TA will be working primarily on a 1 to 1 basis with students who are high functioning, therefore very able but struggle with the people interaction aspect of school life. As a result, this lack of confidence manifests itself in poor behaviour so anyone with experience of working with challenging behaviour is highly desirable for this role.

Working with a specified cohort of students is greatly rewarding and would suit someone looking for work within a secondary school environment but perhaps from a care background; personal or work based.

The school requires the successful SEN Teaching Assistant to start with them from September 4^th until Christmas at least with the view to continuing if successful.

• Pay range between GBP1200 - GBP1400 per month depending on specific experience and hours required

For those situated in the Sale/Altrincham area, the school is also easily accessible and for those further afield – the M60 motorway is close nearby servicing the school very well. There are also very strong public transport links to this school with local buses and the metrolink.

The school is a small secondary school, which is highly supportive as a result of the small nature. The students and staff are all aware of each other and the atmosphere around school is pleasant and understanding as a result of the small scale.
