SEN Teaching Assistant

Job description

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with an Alternative Provision in the Bristol area who is looking to recruit a number of Teaching Assistants with experience of working in a behaviour setting, either within a school or alternative setting.

The successful teaching assistants will ideally have a minimum of 3 months experience of working within an SEMH provision that caters to support students between KS2 through to KS4 with challenging behaviours. A good knowledge of EBD & SEMH and the ability to differentiate and adapt is essential. Although not mandatory Team Teach qualification is desirable.

The provision is easily accessible from the M5; free on-site parking is also available at the provision.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A UK recognised Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Experience working with young people with SEMH/EBD
  • Team Teach Qualification (not essential)
  • Pro-active with excellent behaviour management skills
  • A full UK driving licence with access to a car 5 days a week

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
