Job description

I am currently looking to recruit for a school in Manchester. This school cater for young people who have been excluded from their mainstream school. Pupils ideally will be in this setting for a short stay provision before reintegrating them back into mainstream education. The ideal Teaching Assistant will have a passion for implementing a restorative approach to behaviour.

The ideal Teaching Assistant would have;

  • previous experience teaching young people with social, emotional and mental health needs
  • strong behaviour management skills
  • have sound knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum
  • have an up-to-date Team - Teach qualification
  • have a DBS on the update service
  • The successful Teaching Assistant will also have a passion for promoting behavioural development in young people and must be able to act as a positive role model to the young people within this setting. You will need to be proactive, enthusiastic and have a determination to succeed.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
