Do you have experience assisting those with Special Needs? Are you looking for a role within a school where you have the opportunity to make a difference to children's learning?

A lovely SEN school within the Portsmouth area are currently looking for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants. You will need to have experience of working independently and as part of a team within a school for children supporting them on a 1:1 basis, as well as in groups.

The school cater for Primary and Secondary aged pupils. There are various needs across the school ranging from severe learning and physical difficulties, to speech and language difficulties and challenging behaviour.

As a successful candidate:

  • You must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Have experience working with people who have special needs.
  • Have the flexibility to deal with a variety of situations.
  • Be able to use your initiative and get involved in all tasks.
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure.

You will be a vibrant, creative and patient SEN Teaching Assistant, with a great sense of humour. It is imperative that you are supportive of the children enabling them to progress academically.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
