We are currently seeking a Teaching Assistant for a Primary School. The school caters for pupils aged 2-11 who have all been diagnosed with some form of SEN. The school has recently been rated as Outstanding by OFSTED with very positive reviews from parents, pupils and staff.
Your role as a SEN Teaching Assistant would be to support lessons to meet the learners needs. This would include a curriculum based around academic and social progression. You would assist in lessons aimed to allow the young people to express themselves in a practical and easy way, as well as design tasks to help the young people succeed in their lives beyond the school with a key focus on independent living skills.
The facilities that will made available to include musical instruments for sessions, a wide variety of both indoor and outdoor play equipment for play centred learning and the support of a wide team of professionals who are there not only to support the young people progress but also to support you in your new role. The ideal Teaching Assistant would have.

The school is located in the Atherton area of Wigan and is easily accessible by bus, tram and car.
In addition, you will need to complete all necessary vetting checks including proof of identity, a DBS on the Update Service and producing two recent references.
