Early Years ASD Teaching Assistant 

Teaching Personnel are supporting a two-form entry primary school based in Poole to recruit for their Specialist Enhanced Resource within the school. It is a temporary position starting in September 2022, however could lead to a permanent contract for the right educator.

This Primary School need proactive Teaching Assistants to support Nursery aged children who have Autism. You will be working in their specialist unit alongside 6 other members of staff. The children also have some forms of ADHD, so the school are looking for energetic but calm and patient Teaching Assistants who love what they do. Ideally you will have prior experience supporting children who display challenging behaviour but this is not essential if you have the right attitude. The children tend to push boundaries and lash out, they will therefore require a resilient and determined TA. You will need to commit until the end of the academic year to keep the consistency for the children.

The School is based in Poole and has easy access by car or public transport from surrounding areas.

A successful candidate must be:

  • Be dedicated, resilient and proactive
  • Experience with behaviour management strategies
  • Able to start in September 2022
  • Be available on a full-time basis for the full academic year
  • Already have or be happy to apply for an enhanced DBS disclosure.
  • Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks

This Poole based Primary School is rated 'Good' by OFSTED. It is an inclusive school where the staff work hard to ensure that the curriculum meets the needs of the individual. Special consideration is given to the teaching of life skills as well as English and Maths skills. Their philosophy is that all children deserve the best possible start to their lives. They encourage them to develop socially emotionally, academically and physically to achieve their full potential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
