SEN Teaching Assistant

Job description

Full time Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant required for Salford Secondary school from January 2019 till the end of the academic year.

Teaching personnel are working in collaboration with an Ofsted graded 'Good' secondary school based in the Worsley region of Salford, Greater Manchester. Due to a restructure within the support department there is an outstanding requirement for a dynamic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their progressive Secondary school.

  • Full time SEN Teaching Assistant position, from January 2019.
  • Opportunity to work in an Ofsted graded 'Good' Secondary school.
  • Must have prior experience working with young people within an education capacity.
  • Earn up to £55 - £70 per day.

This Swinton based Secondary school has just over 700 pupils on roll, aged 11-16 and can easily be accessed via major motorway links including the M60.the incoming SEN Teaching Assistant will be expected to work alongside staff who specialise in the support of pupils from a range of needs which include;

  • General support, Dyslexia, Moderate Learning difficulties, Communication and Interaction, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties and finally Sensory and Physical Impediments.

The incoming SEN Teaching Assistant will be required to;

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis across all curriculum areas alongside supporting the class teacher.
  • Provide small group support with a focus on Key Stage 3 pupils with identified learning needs.
  • Take a dedicated and empathetic approach and a passion for working with young people.
