Job description

Full-time Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant required for a Bolton based Secondary school starting immediately fixed term until December 2019. Due to an expansion within the support provisions in school, the SENCO and Senior Leadership Team are seeking to recruit a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work within their support provisions following the half term break.

  • Full-time SEN Teaching Assistant position starting immediately.
  • Previous experience working with Special Educational Needs is essential.
  • CPD training programs available throughout the academic year including; 'Effective Behaviour Management', 'SEN Carousel' and 'Safeguarding Level 2'.
  • Earn up to £1300 dependant upon experience.

The responsibilities for the SEN Teaching Assistant will include but may not be limited to;

  • Supporting young people with varying special Educational Needs in class alongside the class teacher.
  • Work 1:1 and in small intervention groups to support the teaching and learning of young people.
  • Promote an inclusive learning practice in order to diminish the gap between pupils with SEN and their peers.

Located on the outskirts of Bolton, this Farnworth based Secondary school can easily be accessed via major motorway links and the surrounding areas; Bury, Salford, and Wigan. There are also numerous public transport options readily available with links across Greater Manchester.
