Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

A secondary school in the Trafford area is keen to recruit and appoint a confident Teaching Assistant who has experience of supporting young people or interacting with those who have special educational needs (SEN). This could be in a similar educational setting, personal capacity, care environment or experience from another avenue. The successful Teaching Assistant should be able to utilise this experience and skill set to engage with young people who perhaps have Autism, ADHD, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) or are just disengaged with school life.

The SENCO said of the positions available:

“We are keen to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work mostly within our SEN Department supporting students in the classroom as required. The likely successful TA can be a graduate in any discipline or someone who has some level of relevant experience of working with young people.”

As can be seen above, the school are keen to secure a Teaching Assistant who is able to hit the ground running in the support they provide. There will be an element of working with students on a 1 to 1 basis within the classroom, working closely with them on their work. This school is located in the Trafford area of Greater Manchester making it very easy to access for any graduates that live in the nearby areas of Stretford, Fallowfield, Chorlton or Didsbury.

Highlights of this Future teacher’s role:

  • Support as a Teaching Assistant at this highly supportive secondary school located in Trafford
  • Any relevant experience from a similar or related setting is highly desirable
  • Keen interest in supporting young people is essential
  • Pay will be dependent upon experience but likely range between GBP1300 - GBP1400 per month
  • Secure work starting as soon as possible during the first few weeks of October

There is the opportunity to secure work for the remainder of the academic year where you will work within a supportive department and school. There is also potential to progress onto a school based contract after a period through Teaching Personnel given the longevity of this Teaching Assistant role.

This school in particular prides itself on being a school of choice for many local students and parents. They are highly supportive of all staff and are keen to provide high quality training to any successfully appointed graduates which is invaluable within the education sector. The school is located within the Trafford LEA, close to the Stretford, Old Trafford, Chorlton, Hulme and Sale areas.

If you are experienced in any of the above and are keen to secure work as soon as possible with the view to progressing onto a school based contract, then apply now for immediate consideration and a call back to discuss further.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
