SEN Teaching Assistant

Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently working exclusively with a number of schools across Lincolnshire.

One of our clients schools require a Teaching Assistant to provide 121 support for a pupils with SEN, from January to July 2019.

The Role:

The role is to provide 121 support to a pupil with communication difficulties in Year 2, 5 days per week between 8.45 and 3.15. The successful candidate will need to establish and maintain a relationship with the pupil during activities and learning tasks, feeding back to the teacher on progress made.

You will manage behaviour and promote independent learning, encouraging them to take responsibility for their own learning and promoting development of self-esteem.

Other tasks may include assisting the class teacher in setting up the classroom for the day, preparing resources and materials.

The school:

This small, frieldly, rural village school has a supportive team which is a big part of the local community. All members of staff work hard to support children's next steps, progression and attainment. Behaviour is good across the school and children enjoy their learning. The school was recently graded 'Good' by Ofsted, and is easily accessible from Lincoln, Sleaford and Horncastle.

We're looking for someone who...

Suitable candidates will be available to commit to full time work. You will hold a Teaching Assistant / SEN qualification (level 2 or above) and / or have significant experience in working with children with SEN on a 121 basis. A resilient and positive attitude is essential!
