Job description

Teaching Personnel are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to work with secondary aged pupils in small groups. The school is based in Plymouth and is a SEN school which caters for pupils with complex needs as well as SEMH who are no longer in mainstream education. You will be working with small groups of pupils supporting their learning as well as supporting the teacher completing support plans and other documents.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A full, clean driving licence with access to a car to use daily.
  • Be passionate and enthusiastic to work with pupils within the school and enhance their learning.
  • Must have an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or similar.
  • Must have experience of working with pupils and will have had experience of working within the education sector and with multi-agencies.
  • Will be proactive and eager to carry out responsibilities.

In order to work for Teaching Personnel and clear our vetting process, you must have a Child Workforce DBS subscribed to the Update Service. Full assistance will be provided should you need to apply for a new check, at a standard cost of £44, plus an annual subscription fee of £13 for the Update Service.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
