Teaching Personnel are looking for an enthusiastic KS3/KS4 Physical Education teacher who wants to help enhance the development of students. The vision of the PE department is to provide knowledge through instruction, practise and feedback for pupils to flourish within their phase and prepare them for the next stages of learning. In this role you will take advantage of departments facilities including;

  • Full size, floodlit, 3G pitch
  • Extensive school fields
  • Floodlit Multi Use Games Area
  • Fully equipped four badminton court sized sports hall
  • Fitness room equipped with 8 rowing machines, cardio cycles, and free weights
  • Activity and Performance Studio including three state of the art trampolines and 10 table tennis tables

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Ability to deliver lessons across a wide range of Sports
  • Ensuring the students are fully equipped each lesson
  • Pay between £28,000 and £43,685 experience dependant

The departments focus is on three connected pillars of progression that develop competence to participate. These are:

  • Motor competence– executing the range of movements that become increasingly sport and physical activity-specific
  • Knowledge of rules, strategies, tactics & safe/effective participation– knowledge of the conventions of participation in different sports and physical activities and of safe and effective participation
  • Development of Physical Fitness– knowledge of the importance of, and maintaining a good level of physical health and fitness

In order to meet the aims of the national curriculum you will be asked to sustain these pillars of progression.

The role runs from February half term 2023 initially to the summer end of the school year. There is a real potential for this role to become permanent beyond the end of the school year.

There are multiple bus stops within 5 minutes, the M60 only 10 minutes away, 7 minutes from Ashton Under Lyne which links via Metrolink to the entirety of Manchester.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
