Job description

  • Full time SEN TA position available in outstanding primary school near Catford
  • Role available to start immediately (Monday 16th April 2018)
  • Experience of supporting children with profound learning disabilities required

A large primary school near Catford for children with profound and multiple learning disabilities is looking to recruit a full time teaching assistant for the summer term 2018 (starting Monday 18th April). If successful, you may be offered a longer term position to continue in September.

The school has most recently been rated as outstanding by Ofsted, and has excellent facilities to support the learning of the children. This includes a sensory circuit, sensory garden, dark and light sensory rooms, hydrotherapy pool, rebound therapy, soft play and safe spaces.

You must meet the following requirements to be considered for this role:

  • Have a child workforce DBS registered on the update service, or be willing to complete a new one as soon as possible
  • Have previous experience of working with children who have special educational needs
  • Be able to provide references from your previous places of employment
  • Be available for full time work from Monday 16th April 2018
  • Be able to travel to Catford each day for work, starting at 08:30am and finishing at 15:30pm
  • Knowledge of PECs, Makaton or British Sign Language is desirable
  • Be willing to provide personal care including toileting and changing - this is essential
