SEN teaching assistant in Bradford

Job description

The Bradford Primary team are currently working closely with a school in Bradford, BD4 close to the M606 who are looking for an experienced and passionate SEN support assistant to start in the new academic year (3rd September 2018). The ideal teaching assistant will have some experience of working with SEN and will have outstanding inter-personal skills. You will need to be patient and sensitive with the ability to encourage and motivate children as well as being able to work effectively in a team. Experience of ASC and current phonics schemes will be advantageous, but not essential if you are willing to develop your skills and attend training. You will need to take into account children's learning styles and what motivates them to stay engaged, using positive behaviour management.

Our ideal SEN Teaching Assistant would be;

  • experienced supporting children with ASC/Speech and Language/SEN
  • have a good knowledge of behaviour management techniques
  • be patient and sensitive
  • be able to motivate children who are disengaged from their learning
  • experienced supporting children in the Early Years/KS1 setting
  • Moving and Handling/Team Teach/THRIVE trained would be beneficial but not essential
