SEN teaching assistant, Croydon, Autism School, Part Time

Job description

Regular day to day members of cover support staff required for SEN - Autism school in South Croydon.

Are you looking for work as an SEN teaching assistant? Are you looking for part time work? Can you engage with students who are on the autistic spectrum?

I am currently working with a primary SEN school in the Croydon area, which requires a teaching assistant to work on an ad hoc basis covering sickness, courses and other staff absences.

The role:

  • Will be part time, although full time work may become an option in this school
  • You will be called for work early in the morning between 7am and 7:30am, although sometimes we will be able to give more advance notice
  • You can choose whether to be available for work or not each day
  • Support children who have autism, down syndrome and complex needs

You will be required:

  • To have experience working with autism, down syndrome or complex needs
  • To provide personal care where necessary - toileting and changing children
  • To have a DBS on the update service, or be willing to complete a new one asap
  • To be able to work between 08:30am and 15:30pm on the days you are called for work

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
