SEN teaching assistant - Bury (BL9) primary school

  • SEN and SEMH experience is essential
  • 7th January 2019 start date
  • £270 - £300 a week

A primary school based in Bury (BL9) is looking for a teaching assistant to support a pupil with global development delay in the Year 6 class. The Head teacher is looking for a teaching assistant who is passionate about supporting pupils with special educational needs and is looking to make a real difference to the children's life.

The child has severe learning difficulties and is currently working to a Key Stage 1 curriculum. Therefore the ideal candidate will need to be patient and understanding whilst working with him. Experience using interventions outside the class room is essential.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous SEN experience
  • A flexible and creative approach to learning
  • An understanding and nurturing personality

The school is larger than average sized and has an excellent senior leadership team that is supported and focused on getting the best out of the pupils in their care and also out of their staff in the school and there are excellent opportunities for all staff to go on CPD training courses.
