SEN Teaching Assistant required ASAP!

Working 1:1 with a child with complex needs

Support and Inclusion within the classroom

Due to the continued working relationship Teaching Personnel have with this Burnley based primary school, we are looking to recruit an SEN Teaching Assistant to work with a child with complex & additional needs in the Reception class. This 1 form entry primary school take great pride in their "Good" OFSTED status and have outstanding behaviour throughout school. Due to the intake of a new child, this Burnley based primary school are looking to appoint a teaching assistant with SEN experience for their Early Years department.

As an autism specialist teaching assistant, you would be joining a well thought of phase within the school. They would be able to offer you focused support with the SENCO and the learning plans for the child will be clearly laid out. As a teaching assistant in the Early Years, having experience of working with children with SEN is important as you would be expected to work on a 1:1 basis with this child.

The Role:

  • 1:1 support for a child with challenging behaviours
  • Withdrawal work when necessary
  • Some communication issues leading to behaviour
  • Full time - September 2018 start

The Person:

  • Experience of working with Autism - Children or Young People
  • Comfortable with challenging behaviours
  • Able to communicate with children with little speaking ability
  • Communication through visual aids
  • Supported complex needs

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
