SEN (Autism) Teaching Assistant – Maghull, Liverpool

Do you have experience supporting autistic young people (ASD)?

Are you looking to become an SEN Teaching Assistant in a secondary school near you from January .Teaching Personnel are supporting a client  school in Sefton with their recruitment need of an SEN (Autism specific) Teaching Assistant on a full time basis from January .

The  school requiring an SEN Teaching Assistant specialising in Autism is putting extra provisions in place to support agroup of 5 pupils aged 6-11 who are on the autistic spectrum (mild to moderate) and require additional, tailored support with their studies. 

The ideal candidate for the role will have previous experience working with Autism and will be caring, adaptable, patient and passionate about supporting pupils with SEN.

Highlights of the SEN Teaching Assistant post:

  • Full-time SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Supporting  identified pupils aged across KS1 and KS2 with Autism

  • January to April  initially, support is likely to be needed for the full year

  • Primary school based in Sefton

  • Working  1:1 and in small groups to ensure they are well supported with their studies and reach their full potential.

  • Building a strong rapport with the pupils

  • Previous experience working with young people and Autism(ASD) is essential for the role

The primary school based in Maghill, within Sefton LEA, is well structured with a supportive leadership  team. As a result, the successful SEN Teaching Assistant, supporting with Autism and learning, will be fully equipped in their new role and will receive a full induction from the school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
