The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with teachers and support students with SEN and SEMH needs, helping them to access learning and build confidence.

You may have the opportunity to work across multiple provisions within the school group, providing a broad and varied experience.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting students in lessons and small group settings
  • Assisting with behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Helping to plan and deliver engaging activities
  • Building positive relationships with pupils
  • Observing experienced teachers and developing your skills

  • Considering a PGCE or career in teaching
  • Confident, enthusiastic, and approachable

  • Adaptable and keen to learn
  • Committed to a full academic year

Degrees/backgrounds that work well:

  • Psychology, Education, Criminology
  • English, Maths, Science, Humanities
  • Youth work or coaching backgrounds

Training & Development

  • Full training provided from day one
  • Opportunity for the school to fund a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Ongoing mentoring from experienced educators
  • Excellent experience to support PGCE applications and interviews
